Don't Worry

“For the last time, I don’t want to!” He kicks and screams. People in the crowded shopping center stare. A mother looks at her child, embarrassed.
“Freddy, you don’t have a choice. You have to get your picture taken!” She says, exasperated. The son looks at her with hopelessness.
“But momma, I don’t want to.” She kneels next to him.
“Why not?"
“Because if I get my picture taken, that means it’s over…” She smiles with understanding.
“Darlin’, just cause you get your senior pictures taken doesn’t mean high school is over. Your friends and memories will be with you till the day you die."
